Optic Fibre Christmas Trees

I got my first artificial Christmas tree, and after taking almost an hour to put it up and adjust every single branch, the backs of my hands broke out in a very red, burning rash. It stings horribly. My fingers felt like there was some kind of residue, and even though I washed my hands twice, the backs still hurt and are very red.

Are artificial trees covered with some kind of coating?

We just bought an artificial tree for the first time. After we got it home I saw a warning on the side advising one to wash one’s hands after touching the tree as it contains lead. I guess I’m naive–it never occurred to me that an xmas tree manufactured today would have lead in it. I’m not worried about myself or my partner and there will be no small children around it, but is using this tree potentially harmful for our cat? If so I obviously want to return it and figure out what to do instead. Thanks you!

So we got this very large artificial christmas tree this year and it only breaks down into 2 piece. The green bag for it is completely full once we get it in there. My question is, what is a good idea of how to store this tree to where it can be out of the way? I could just throw it out into the garage but I wanted to see what others did first….Thanks!!!!!!

We have an artificial Christmas tree that is losing its branches and the needles keep coming off. It’s a sad tree. I don’t want to just throw it away, but I don’t know if I can recycle it. I don’t want to give it to Goodwill b/c it is in such sad shape. I live in the Indianapolis, IN area. Thank you!

My artificial Christmas Tree from Home Depot won’t come apart. I took the top section off just fine, but the middle one is stuck and I threw away the directions. Is there something I have to push to get it to come loose from the bottom section?

It’s the kind with the branches that fold up when you store it and comes predecorated with lights, if that helps.

We purchased a used artificial christmas tree and would like to "fluff" the branches. Some of them are flat-the needles stick out on the sides of the branch, not all the way around. I know that we can reshape the brand by bending the tips around but how do you reshape the needles on the tip? Thanks!

i bought a second hand prelit 7.5 feet christmas tree, it has 3 tiers.when i assembled it there are 6 plugs but only one end connector. how will i connect the plugs?

I’m so frustrated because I tried replacing all the bulbs of the string that’s not lighting up and I’ve had no success. Any other suggestions?
By the way, my tree is white so a regular light strand wouldn’t work because the cord is green.
The original strands cannot be removed; they are very well tied to the tree.

I have a 7′ white artificial tree I would like to use for christmas, only problem is, it is dirty looking, was wondering on how this problem can be fixed to bring it back to its right color(white) will soaking it in water with bleach hurt it? any other suggestions please?

Is there a replacement bulb or do you have to throw the tree out and get a whole new one?

In my class we took a vote, and out of 30 kids in my class, 25 of them got artificial trees! Personally I’m ashamed! It’s always been a tradition in my family to get a real Christmas tree, and it’s so fun to chop it down in the woods, hanging up ornaments and having the smell of pine in your living room! I want to see how many people actually use artificial trees, and why? It’s boring, and there’s no fun of getting the tree from the woods! Please express your opinions!

We have a year old artificial prelit Christmas tree. There is a strand of lights out. I am not going to go thru them as the tree is already up. My instructions says it’s a no no to add lights. Has anyone ever added lights? Is it safe?

I’m a student living on loans and don’t want to spend too much, but am hoping to find a reasonably priced 9′ tree. I’m also not allowed to put a live tree in my apartment, per my contract. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

We are replacing our standard Christmas lights with LED and we have a 7 foot artificial tree. I have heard we should be using around 700 lights (100/ft). Is that equation the same for LED’s?
