This Christmas, why not consider an optic fibre Christmas tree that is pre-lit and pre-decorated?

Live Christmas trees are beautiful, but they have certain problems.  First, it is very difficult to find one that is nicely straight.  So many of them are not symmetrical or have a bend in them.  This is especially true of tree branches which are often sold in lieu of the whole tree.  Secondly, live trees drop their needles and make a huge mess, and the needles are ofter prickly and cause itching and sore skin during their decoration.

A good quality artificial tree does not have any of these problems, and it offers a great deal of versatility.  An artificial tree can even be hung upside down from your ceiling!

Instead of using expensive and dangerous Christmas tree lights, the prelit Christmas tree uses fibre optic lights or led lights.  These are much more economical to run, and some can even be run off a rechargeable battery.  They are safe, especially when little fingers are nearby, and ecologically friendly.

More and more, people are looking to save money and an artificial tree can be re-used every year.   If the tree is also pre-lit and/or pre-decorated, there are still more savings to be gained as there is no need to purchase the lights and decorations.  Furthermore, fibre optic Christmas trees are much cheaper to run then regular Christmas lights, and can be left on all night with no damage to the pocketbook or to the environment.

Fibre optic Christmas trees come in an amazing variety of colours and styles.  You can have an all-white Christmas tree or a tree in your favourite color (like the pink feather tree in the video below).  They come in all sizes from table-top to room-filling, and can work outside as well.

Over the last decade or so, pre-lit artificial trees have become not just affordable but downright popular. A pre-lit Christmas tree is one where the wires of the Christmas light strands are already woven around the individual branches; eliminating the much dreaded task of putting your own lights on the Christmas tree every year. Pre-lit Christmas trees come in every shape and size as well as a wide variety of light options.

Pre-lit artificial trees can have lights ranging from the traditional white mini lights to the more modern and far more energy efficient LED lights, available in a range of different colors and globe patterns. The newer LED lights can have a globe pattern in the plastic bulb itself that make it look like crystals and with the addition of color, can make your tree look quite festive. LED lights use far less energy and have a much longer life than traditional bulbs.

Pre-lit artificial Christmas trees have lights that are double wired so that if you have a light that burns out, the rest of the strand will stay lit. This is an especially important feature to look for in your trees because not only does one strand rely on that, all the rest of the strands need the wire to work to power the rest. Each strand is plugged into the previous one and draws power from it. Be sure that your tree has this feature to avoid having to try to replace burned out strands yourself. Most trees come with many replacement bulbs that will allow you to swap out individual burned out bulbs to keep your tree looking beautifully lit for many years.

Pre-lit artificial Christmas trees take away the task of untangling your lights each year, and testing to see which strings are still good or not. Because the lights on pre-lit get banged around far less in storage because they are wound tightly around branches, the lights tend to last longer than if they were just coiled up strings shoved into a box of Christmas decorations.

Pre-lit artificial Christmas trees are also safer than a regular artificial tree that you decorate yourself. The trees have a safe number of lights plugged into each other that will be plugged into one outlet. Often, people will put too many lights on their tree and create too much heat within the tree or overload the outlet that they plug them all into. A pre-lit tree is a safer option because these electrical loads have already been calculated for you and use UL approved wires for all of the strands and connections. When you do it yourself, often times a household extension cord is overloaded to try to get each individual light strand plugged in and can result in an electrical fire.

It can be very difficult doing a good job at hanging Christmas lights on your tree yourself. Once you get all of the wires untangled and tested, you then can spend hours trying to get the lights deep enough in the tree or wrapped around branches to try to conceal all of the wires. A pre-lit tree has all of the wires cleverly wrapped around each individual branch and keeps it looking neat and saves room for more ornaments.

Assembling a pre-lit tree is really no harder than assembling any other artificial tree. Each plug on one section is usually marked clearly where it needs to plug into the previous section and then you can bend your branches out, just like usual. However, not having to waste the time stringing lights, you have much more time to spend adding tinsel, garland, and beloved family ornaments that really put the finishing touches on your beautiful Christmas tree. By adding a pre-lit Christmas tree to your holiday decorations, you will save time not stringing lights and have a beautiful tree to show for it.
